Updated Post

Since I couldn't erase certain comments...i had to repost this entry. I realized that members of my family would be seeing this blog......and i can't certain website advocated by Goki posted on the sight. If you comment, please keep it clean. Thanks

November is prostate cancer awareness motnh in Australia. So the local population has taken to growing ridicolous mustaches. I've decided to adapt local culture, so I'm going to continue growing my M0 !! Here's a picture of me with my Mo!

Travel Notes: Sailed the Whitsundays for three days. Weather didn't cooperate, so we ended up spending a day on Hamilton Island resort. It's an incredible resort island. Left the Whitsundays and came up to Cairns. We're under a tropical storm watch, so there isn't a whole lot going on but drinking in Cairns. Overall, the weather has been pretty weird. It's been raining a lot lately. I'm really excited, because tomorrow is scuba diving!!

Food Notes: Enjoyed some Kangaroo yesterday. Got to eat an Aussie game platter, which consisted of Emu, Kangaroo and Croc. Liked the crocodile and kangaroo, but cant' really say much for the Emu.

We're only in Cairns, for a few more days and getting ready to go to Melbourne. Still have Tazmania and Melbourne on the agenda.

the end is near

but first, Tassie!! Tasmania was really awesome. Of all the cities we've been to, I really liked Hobart. . It was really laid back and had a great island feel. I have a bunch of pics, but I can't post them because the battery ran out in the camera. We spent the first day in Hobart, the capital and the second was mostly at Port Arthur. Just as I got to Port Arthur, the sight of the very first prison, the stupid camera died. I'll have to get the pics out of Mike's camera.

Our flight leaves out of Melbourne tomorrow morning. It's going to be crazy long journey, and I'm not looking forward to spending 20 hours on an airplane.
I hope everyone had a nice thanksgiving day. We ended up eating out an Indian Restaurant for thanksgiving meal. The food was really good, but then Mike ended up sick for the whole next day!!

Just found that i'm going to have to start going into the office as soon as I get back.....not going to be any fun. I'll see all of you when I return.

Melbourne

We've wrapped the tour of the coast. Yesterday we flew into Melbourne and began wandering around. We're set to leave Melbourne in about 2 days and fly down to Tassie for 2 nights.

Melbourne is a pretty cool place. The city is pretty happening and there appear to be a lot of watering holes. There are a lot of Browns here....probably more than I've seen in the rest of Australia.
There are also a lot of flys around this city. It was almost unbearable to walk around, because flys were constantly buzzing around our face and by our ears. Before the comments from the peanut gallery start about the abundance of flys being from too many Browns or my personal hygiene, let me note that this is a city wide issue. There was an article in the local paper highlighting this problem. So the flys are not my fault because I have been showering (with soap) on a regular basis!!

Somehow, we've ended up staying right near Chinatown(just like in Sydney). We passed by a bunch of Chinese Karoke bars last night and just might have to go visit one so we can hear our fine AZN friends belting out renditions of Michael Jackson's hits.

I am not Sri Lankan!!

Went to my very first cricket match yesterday in Brisbane. It was actually pretty cool. Ended up making some new friends at the match and hanging out with them after the match. They took us back to their apartment...it was a lot of drinking and a whole lot of craziness. It was probably one of the better nights out in Australia.

So Australia played Sri Lanka at the match and everyone kept mistaking me for a Sri Lankan. After about halfway, I gave up and just went with it. Cricket is very similar to baseball. Get to go and drink in the sun and watch young ladies trying to tan at the ballpark. Not a bad little Saturday.

Brisbane is so much cooler than Sydney........and the ladies are soo much hotter in Brisbane in Sydney. They seem to be getting hotter as we work up the coast, so let's hope Cairns is nuts.

Wont' be back around for a few days. We're on a 3 day sailing trip around the Whitsunday Islands which starts early tomorrow.

Smell ya later!

Goin up the Country

Left Sydney about a day ago and started the journey up the coast. I'm currently in Byron Bay, a small beach town just south of Brisbane. It's incredible here! For this post, I"ll do less blogging and put up some pictures.

We're planning on leaving here and working our way up the beach towns on the East Coast of Australia.

A few pictures for your enjoyement: #1: Yours truly in Sydney representing my Gaffer

Safe in Sydney

Flight was really long........but I made it. Safe and sound in Sydney. Spent the last two days walking all around. The hotel we're at is incredibly nice. Its so nice that we get strange looks.........cause we definetly don't look like the other clientele. Got to see historic landmarks and many pictures of the Opera House. I unfortunately didn't bring the USB cord to the internet cafe, so all of you will have to wait for some pictures. I also have a bunch of pictures of Sydney Harbor. It's a beautiful entry point into the city and since our hotel is so close, we've spent a lot of time in the harbor way.

Also, saw some Kangaroos(I unfortunatley couldn't get one to pose like the guy in the title bar) and koalas at the Sydney Zoo...it's pretty huge, much bigger than Lincoln Park or Brookfield. We're headed to the Blue Mountains tomorrow morning. That should be pretty fun. It sounds like a day of walking around and nature activities.

Will try to post some pictures before leaving Sydney, which should be in a few days.
